Assistant Professor of Chemistry and Biochemistry

Responsibilities

• Teach a standard load of 4.5 courses per year, primarily in organic chemistry (including Organic Chemistry, Bioorganic Chemistry, and Organic Mechanism and Synthesis)
• Engage in sustained scholarly research and/or creative work
• Mentor undergraduate students through research programs and academic advising
• Participate in faculty service, including committee work

Requirements

• PhD in chemistry or a related field (in hand or expected by the first semester of the 2027-28 academic year)
• Expertise in organic chemistry, broadly defined
• Demonstrated commitment to and potential excellence in undergraduate teaching
• Ability to incorporate undergraduate students into a research program

Preferred Qualifications

• Postdoctoral experience
• Specialization in polymer, organometallic, or bioorganic chemistry
