About the role
Responsibilities
- Execute teaching and learning duties, including course instruction, laboratory management, and curriculum development.
- Lead research and scholarship activities by establishing a research program aligned with the teacher-scholar model.
- Involve students in research projects and publish findings in peer-reviewed journals and conference presentations.
- Perform service and citizenship activities within the department, the institution, the profession, and the community.
- Develop elective courses in fields such as sustainability, process safety, alternative energy, and materials science.
Requirements
- Ph.D. in Chemical Engineering or a closely related field (ABD with completion by time of appointment will be considered).
- Ability to teach undergraduate chemical engineering lecture courses (e.g., process design, separations, fluid dynamics, heat transfer).
- Ability to develop and teach undergraduate chemical engineering labs.
- Ability to develop an externally funded applied research program.
- Strong written and oral communication skills in the English language.

Preferred Qualifications
- Demonstrated expertise in applied research areas such as new energy, sustainability, and materials engineering.
- Proven experience in teaching labs and lecture courses at the undergraduate level.
