About the role

Responsibilities

  • Teach undergraduate and graduate courses in one of three specialized areas: Structures, Design and Professional Practice, or Design and History/Theory.
  • Maintain a teaching load of 18 credits per academic year.
  • Contribute to the architectural design studio culture through regular desk critiques and review sessions.
  • Engage in active creative or scholarly pursuits, including peer-reviewed publications and professional development.
  • Participate in departmental and college committees, student advising, and recruitment efforts.
  • Support an inclusive learning environment that fosters a sense of belonging for all students.

Requirements

  • Master's degree in Architecture (M.Arch) or a comparable professional degree.
  • For the Structures position: A graduate degree in Architecture, Structural Engineering, Civil Engineering, or an allied field.
  • For Design and Professional Practice or History/Theory positions: A graduate degree in Architecture.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of architectural design pedagogy.
  • Ability to teach both undergraduate and graduate-level courses.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Ph.D. in Architecture, Civil Engineering, or an allied discipline (or ABD status).
  • Previous college-level teaching experience in your specific area of expertise.
  • Experience with digital tools, BIM workflows, or state-of-the-art simulation software.
  • Professional registration or membership (e.g., AIA, NCARB, PE, RA).
  • A promising scholarly trajectory and research focus.
