Assistant Professor of Anesthesiology

Responsibilities

• Develop and deliver graduate-level courses, lectures, and laboratory sessions in anesthesiology.
• Utilize active-learning strategies, such as team-based learning, to promote clinical decision-making.
• Create instructional materials including learning videos, handouts, and presentations.
• Prepare, administer, and grade assessments to measure student achievement of learning outcomes.
• Provide timely, constructive feedback to students to support academic and clinical development.
• Engage in research or scholarly activity in anesthesiology to advance clinical practice and contribute to new knowledge.
• Mentor students in scholarly inquiry and research skill development.
• Participate in College and University committees, meetings, and accreditation activities.
• Maintain professional veterinary licensure and complete required continuing education.

Requirements

• Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM/VMD) or equivalent degree.
• Eligibility for licensure in the state of Florida.
• Residency training and/or specialty board certification in anesthesiology.

Preferred Qualifications

• Previous teaching experience in an academic setting.
• Demonstrated record of research, scholarly activity, or professional contributions.
• Veterinary clinical experience in anesthesiology or related fields such as emergency and critical care or pharmacology.
