Assistant Professor

Responsibilities

• Deliver basic medical science content using innovative techniques in didactic and laboratory sessions, focusing on histology, cell biology, or microbiology.
• Participate in curriculum development and ensure horizontal and vertical integration of course content.
• Collaborate with clinical faculty to align basic science teaching with professional medical practice.
• Conduct original research and publish findings in biomedical or educational subjects.
• Establish a research program in areas such as musculoskeletal, cardiovascular, or metabolism science.
• Apply for extramural funding and participate in the review of research proposals.
• Serve on university and departmental committees to support the institution's service mission.

Requirements

• Terminal degree (Ph.D. or M.D.) in a relevant field or specialty.
• Minimum of 3 years of teaching experience in undergraduate, graduate, or medical education.

Preferred Qualifications

• Board certification if the candidate is a clinician.
• Proven experience in curriculum and course development and implementation.
• Demonstrated track record of research and scholarship.
• Ability to mentor students, fellows, and faculty.
