About the role

Responsibilities

  • Teach a 4-4 course load in the Marriage and Family Therapy program, covering theory, clinical practice, ethics, and therapeutic techniques.
  • Develop and update course materials, including syllabi, assignments, and evaluations, in alignment with academic and accreditation standards.
  • Supervise MFT students during their educational journey and clinical internship experiences.
  • Advise students on academic progress, professional development, and career planning.
  • Participate in departmental meetings, program reviews, and accreditation activities.
  • Contribute to the development and maintenance of the program’s outcome-based education framework and curriculum.

Requirements

  • Master's degree in Marriage and Family Therapy (MFT) or Couple and Family Therapy.
  • Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT) or eligibility for licensure in the state of Pennsylvania.
  • 3-5 years of significant clinical experience in the field of Marriage and Family Therapy.
  • 1-2 years of previous teaching experience at the graduate level.
  • Knowledge of and familiarity with COAMFTE accreditation standards.
  • Ability to work evening hours for classes and university events.

Preferred Qualifications

  • AAMFT Approved Supervisor designation or eligibility.
  • Experience with in-person, online, and hybrid instructional methods.
  • Demonstrated commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion in higher education and clinical practice.
