About the role

Responsibilities

  • Manage and administer the MS in Nursing program for family nurse practitioners
  • Oversee the CCNE accreditation process and maintain compliance with NYSED and other accrediting agencies
  • Provide academic leadership, including monitoring academic standards and evaluating graduate nursing faculty
  • Coordinate course offerings, faculty assignments, and curriculum development
  • Teach courses within the MS program and act as a faculty advisor for MS students
  • Participate in departmental, school, and campus committees
  • Engage in recruitment efforts and assist with student retention
  • Conduct scholarly research and encourage grant proposal activities

Requirements

  • Earned doctorate in nursing or a related field (PhD, EdD, DNP); candidates currently enrolled in a doctoral program may be considered
  • Licensed Registered Nurse in the State of New York
  • Licensed and Board Certified Nurse Practitioner in the State of New York
  • Minimum of 5 years of clinical practice with evidence of current and continuing practice
  • Experience in college-level teaching and administration within a baccalaureate or higher degree program
  • Strong leadership, supervision, and interpersonal communication skills

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master's degree in nursing in addition to a doctoral degree
  • Experience with nursing simulation equipment
  • Expertise in writing grant proposals and conducting scholarly research
