About the role
Responsibilities
- Establish a highly competitive, independent research program in biochemistry or polymer chemistry
- Direct and mentor undergraduate and graduate students in research activities
- Provide instruction for undergraduate and graduate courses in respective areas of expertise
- Teach first-year and second-year chemistry courses
- Contribute to departmental service and university initiatives
Requirements
- Ph.D. or ABD in chemistry with a research emphasis in biochemistry or polymer chemistry
- Potential to establish and maintain an independent active research program
- At least one year of post-secondary teaching experience
- Ph.D. requirements must be completed by the start of the appointment
Preferred Qualifications
- At least two years of experience as a postdoctoral researcher or in a related postgraduate position
- Documented pedagogical and curricular success at the college level teaching biochemistry or polymer chemistry
