Assistant Professor in Chemistry

Responsibilities

• Establish a highly competitive, independent research program in biochemistry or polymer chemistry
• Direct and mentor undergraduate and graduate students in research activities
• Provide instruction for undergraduate and graduate courses in respective areas of expertise
• Teach first-year and second-year chemistry courses
• Contribute to departmental service and university initiatives

Requirements

• Ph.D. or ABD in chemistry with a research emphasis in biochemistry or polymer chemistry
• Potential to establish and maintain an independent active research program
• At least one year of post-secondary teaching experience
• Ph.D. requirements must be completed by the start of the appointment

Preferred Qualifications

• At least two years of experience as a postdoctoral researcher or in a related postgraduate position
• Documented pedagogical and curricular success at the college level teaching biochemistry or polymer chemistry
