Assistant Professor - Ecology and Evolution Biology

Responsibilities

• Teach assigned biology courses, including both lectures and laboratory sessions
• Develop syllabi, assessments, and course materials in alignment with institutional guidelines
• Prepare, maintain, and organize laboratory materials while ensuring safety and cleanliness
• Advise and mentor undergraduate and graduate students through office hours and electronic communication
• Contribute to curriculum development and departmental program assessment
• Participate in departmental, divisional, and institutional meetings
• Engage in professional development and maintain professional relationships with colleagues and administration

Requirements

• Ph.D. in Ecology and Evolution Biology, Environmental Science, Marine Science, or a closely related discipline
• Experience with computational approaches (e.g., data science, machine learning, or probability theory)
• Teaching experience at the college level
• Demonstrated potential for securing external research funding

Preferred Qualifications

• Expertise in marine biology
• Research that bridges ecology, evolutionary biology, and marine science
• Experience using modern datasets to address fundamental ecological questions or societally relevant challenges
