About the role

Responsibilities

  • Serve as a full-time faculty member for the undergraduate Digital Game Design and Development program
  • Teach approximately 24 credits per academic year, covering courses such as Game Development, Visual Design for Games, and Senior Game Projects
  • Contribute to curriculum development, including the integration of AI-assisted workflows and procedural systems
  • Mentor interdisciplinary student teams in collaborative game production
  • Cultivate internship opportunities within the New York area
  • Collaborate with Computer Science and Digital Art faculty to maintain a rigorous curriculum
  • Participate in faculty committees, strategic planning, and student recruitment events

Requirements

  • MFA or doctorate (or equivalent professional experience) in game design, computer science, computer programming, or interactive design
  • 3+ years of professional experience in game development, specifically with Unity production techniques
  • Strong technical proficiency in C# programming and Unity development workflows
  • Demonstrated scholarly or creative activity with national or international recognition in the field
  • University-level teaching experience

Preferred Qualifications

  • Proficiency with Unreal Engine and visual scripting systems
  • Experience with gameplay systems design, interactive storytelling, or UI/UX for interactive applications
  • Expertise in multiplayer/networked game development or mobile/PC/web deployment pipelines
  • Experience with VR, AR, or Mixed Reality (MR) technologies
  • Experience developing analog games
  • Demonstrated ability to lead technologists, artists, and designers on team projects
