PhD or EdD in speech-language pathology, Certificate of Clinical Competence in SLP, PA licensure eligibility, Expertise in motor-speech, feeding, swallowing, voice, or upper airway disorders

About the role

Responsibilities

  • Demonstrate teaching excellence across undergraduate, post-baccalaureate, and graduate programs
  • Supervise students on special projects, including independent studies and research
  • Provide academic advising to students at least once per semester
  • Maintain regular office hours to support student success
  • Engage actively in the CSD Department, the School of Nursing and Health Sciences, and the broader University community
  • Represent the department and clinical services at sponsored events

Requirements

  • PhD or EdD in speech-language pathology or a related field (ABD candidates completing by December 31, 2026, are encouraged to apply)
  • Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC) in Speech-Language Pathology
  • Eligibility for Pennsylvania licensure as a speech-language pathologist
  • Expertise in one or more areas: motor-speech, feeding, swallowing, voice, or upper airway disorders
  • Commitment to excellence in teaching, research, and clinical supervision

Preferred Qualifications

  • Previous teaching experience in communication sciences and disorders or a related discipline
  • Experience with evidence-based teaching and learning practices for in-person, online, or hybrid platforms
  • Familiarity with clinical education principles and experience supervising graduate student clinicians
  • Proficiency with learning management systems (e.g., Canvas) and instructional tools
  • Expertise in augmentative and alternative communication, fluency disorders, or bilingualism
