About the role

Responsibilities

  • Direct and teach upper-level courses in the Medical Science Baccalaureate Program, including subjects such as biochemistry, medical genetics, or cell biology.
  • Serve as the Course Director for the Scientific Foundations of Medicine (SFOM) course within the Medical School.
  • Lead the organization of SFOM course content, oversee all course activities, and create assessment materials in collaboration with a clinical co-director.
  • Present lectures within SFOM and other Phase 1 courses based on subject matter expertise.
  • Collaborate with faculty to develop innovative teaching methods and course materials.
  • Serve on various curriculum and educational program committees.
  • Mentor groups of students to prepare them for careers in biomedical sciences and healthcare.

Requirements

  • Ph.D. in a biomedical sciences field (e.g., biochemistry, molecular biology, cell biology, microbiology, immunology, etc.).
  • Proven teaching experience at the baccalaureate or medical school level.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in course oversight or administration at the undergraduate or medical education level.
  • Demonstrated excellence in teaching at the baccalaureate or medical school level.
  • A history of participation in and dissemination of medical education scholarship.
