About the role
Responsibilities
- Teach French language, theory, philosophy, and cultural studies at the undergraduate level
- Develop and lead graduate courses within your specific field of expertise
- Engage in scholarly research regarding contemporary African and Continental philosophy
- Foster interdisciplinary connections across campus units such as Philosophy, Religion, and Comparative Literature
- Utilize innovative pedagogy and digital forms of delivery in teaching
Requirements
- PhD or an equivalent degree at the time of employment
- Native or near-native mastery of both French and English
- Strong background in philosophy or literary theory
- Demonstrated interest in the history, politics, and esthetics of Francophone African, Afropean, and diasporic communities
