About the role
Responsibilities
- Contribute to teaching, research, and service missions with a 20:60:20 workload for the first three years
- Deliver excellence in teaching biochemistry and advanced courses, including lectures and labs
- Develop an innovative and sustainable research program involving undergraduate and graduate researchers
- Engage in curriculum development, academic advising, recruiting, and program assessment
- Participate in service to the school, college, and university
- Aim to develop the capacity to serve as a COBRE Research Project Leader (RPL)
Requirements
- Ph.D. in biochemistry or a closely related field
- Demonstrated capacity for undergraduate teaching in biochemistry
- Ability to develop and maintain an innovative research program in cellular signaling or related areas
Preferred Qualifications
- Post-doctoral research experience
- Prior teaching experience
- Experience with grant writing
