Assistant Professor and Artistic Director

Responsibilities

• Provide visionary artistic and academic leadership for the Resident Ensemble Players (REP)
• Administer the artistic direction of the REP in consultation with the Department Chair
• Curate and produce innovative seasons that advance the department's artistic and educational missions
• Create student opportunities within the REP, integrating professional work with student learning
• Teach courses aligned with professional expertise and mentor students in artistic practice
• Collaborate with faculty, staff, and community partners to expand programming and outreach
• Serve as a public ambassador for the REP and department, including donor cultivation and fundraising
• Oversee and monitor REP budgets in collaboration with the Department Chair

Requirements

• Terminal degree (MFA or PhD)
• Professional background in theatre as a director, artist, designer, and/or scholar
• Demonstrated experience in artistic direction
• Proven teaching experience

Preferred Qualifications

• Accomplished professional background in theatre
• Experience integrating professional theatre companies with academic curricula
