Assistant Principal

Responsibilities

• Support the Senior Leadership Team in securing effective teaching and successful learning
• Monitor the effectiveness of literacy and numeracy provision throughout the academy
• Set up systems for identifying, assessing, and reviewing pupil progress, including SEN, EMA, and More Able students
• Lead staff development in literacy and numeracy and conduct performance appraisals
• Line manage staff and disseminate good practice in assessment and inclusion
• Analyse data and results to take appropriate action and update the Principal and Governing body
• Ensure a safe, attractive, and effective learning environment for all pupils
• Participate in the smooth day-to-day running of the academy and attend community events

Requirements

• Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) and a good undergraduate degree
• At least three years of teaching experience, ideally within a culturally diverse environment
• Proven management experience of a curriculum area or phase
• Strong data analysis skills and experience with pupil tracking and record keeping
• Excellent written and oral communication skills
• Knowledge of the National Curriculum and effective literacy/numeracy pedagogy

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience contributing to strategic thinking at a whole academy level
• Knowledge of the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) Curriculum
