Assistant Plant Controller

Responsibilities

• Assist the Controller with budget preparation, five-year planning, and monthly forecasting/modeling.
• Manage the period closing process to ensure general ledger accuracy and timely reporting.
• Monitor spending and collaborate with department managers to control costs and research expense variances.
• Provide financial analysis related to capital projects, cost reduction initiatives, and other ad-hoc requests.
• Prepare financial presentations, monthly management reports, and validate plant financial results.
• Support statutory reporting and Sarbanes-Oxley (SOX) compliance, including quarterly SEC and tax reporting packages.

Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or Finance (MBA in Finance is desired).
• 5-10 years of relevant experience, preferably in Manufacturing or Cost Accounting.
• Proficiency in Excel, PowerPoint, general ledger systems, and forecasting tools.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and presentation skills.
• Ability to analyze data and interpret its business implications.
• Willingness to relocate.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with SAP or PeopleSoft.
• Knowledge of VBA and Macros.
• Experience in a "Big 4" public accounting firm or a U.S. multinational corporation.
• Strong interpersonal skills to build relationships with finance teams and business stakeholders.
