About the role
Responsibilities
- Oversee operations and patient flow for the Pediatric Emergency Department during the assigned night shift
- Direct the delivery of quality, patient-centered care in a financially responsible manner
- Complete daily quality audits and manage Managing for Daily Improvement (MDI) boards
- Facilitate daily huddles with staff and collaborate with Patient Care Managers (PCMs) on program implementation
- Act as a change agent to identify issues and implement strategies to resolve patient care concerns
- Assume full responsibility for the unit in the absence of the Patient Care Manager
Requirements
- Graduate of an NLN accredited School of Nursing
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) or higher
- Minimum of two years of nursing experience
- Minimum of one year of clinical experience in the specialty area
- Demonstrated leadership skills through Charge Nurse experience or equivalent
Preferred Qualifications
- Master’s degree in nursing or a related field
- Specialty nursing certifications
- Experience working within an academic medical center
- Experience working in a unionized environment
