Assistant Patient Care Manager, Pediatric Emergency Department

Responsibilities

• Oversee operations and patient flow for the Pediatric Emergency Department during the assigned night shift
• Direct the delivery of quality, patient-centered care in a financially responsible manner
• Complete daily quality audits and manage Managing for Daily Improvement (MDI) boards
• Facilitate daily huddles with staff and collaborate with Patient Care Managers (PCMs) on program implementation
• Act as a change agent to identify issues and implement strategies to resolve patient care concerns
• Assume full responsibility for the unit in the absence of the Patient Care Manager

Requirements

• Graduate of an NLN accredited School of Nursing
• Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) or higher
• Minimum of two years of nursing experience
• Minimum of one year of clinical experience in the specialty area
• Demonstrated leadership skills through Charge Nurse experience or equivalent

Preferred Qualifications

• Master’s degree in nursing or a related field
• Specialty nursing certifications
• Experience working within an academic medical center
• Experience working in a unionized environment
