Assistant Pastor of Formation & Community Life

Responsibilities

• Oversee community group strategy in line with church vision
• Recruit, equip, mobilize, and train lay leaders
• Provide pastoral care, coaching, and counseling
• Develop spiritual formation strategy and membership processes
• Teach cohorts and develop teaching content
• Manage and equip staff and interns on the community life team
• Preach 8-10 times a year and lead worship/sacraments on Sundays
• Support the development of a healthy Diaconate and Session culture

Requirements

• Ordained teaching elder in the PCA
• Alignment with Redeemer and PCA theological principles (Westminster Standards)
• 7-10 years of pastoral experience including staff management
• Theological degree from an accredited seminary (Master's preferred)
• Strong teaching, preaching, and leadership skills
• Ability to thrive in an urban church plant context
• Willingness to become a Redeemer Brooklyn member
