Assistant or Associate Professor of Sport Management

Responsibilities

• Teach undergraduate and graduate courses in Sport Management, including topics such as sport sales, administration, legal issues, and introductory courses.
• Supervise student internships and provide academic advising to a minimum of 30 students per year.
• Mentor students to prepare them for professional employment within the sports industry.
• Assist in increasing the visibility of the UIndy Sport Management undergraduate and graduate programs.
• Engage in service to the university, college, department, and the local community.
• Contribute to a collegial and collaborative work environment within the Department of Kinesiology, Health, and Sport Sciences.

Requirements

• Ph.D. or Ed.D. in Sport Management, Sport Administration, or a related field (ABD, JD, and Master’s prepared will be considered).
• Evidence of successful university-level teaching experience.
• Authorization to work in the U.S. (sponsorship is not available at this time).

Preferred Qualifications

• A strong record of involvement with the sports industry or closely related areas.
• A passion for connecting students with local and regional sport organizations.
• Demonstrated commitment to academic service and scholarship.
