About the role
Responsibilities
- Teach 24 credit hours per academic year, including rhetoric, general education survey courses, and upper-division courses for English majors
- Deliver PEAK intensive experiential interdisciplinary courses during May terms on a rotating schedule
- Provide academic advising, mentoring, and tutoring to support student success
- Engage in professional development and scholarship to maintain currency in the field
- Support undergraduate research opportunities and mentor students in senior capstone experiences
- Serve on various committees within the School, College, and Faculty Senate
Requirements
- PhD in English, Comparative Literature, or a related discipline from an accredited institution
- Teaching experience in English or an associated field
- Excellent oral and written communication skills
- Highly organized and detail-oriented with the ability to multi-task
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience in program administration
- Comparable teaching experience at the college level
- MFA in Creative Writing
- Secondary specialization in environmental literature or ecopoetics
