About the role

Responsibilities

  • Teach 24 credit hours per academic year, including rhetoric, general education survey courses, and upper-division courses for English majors
  • Deliver PEAK intensive experiential interdisciplinary courses during May terms on a rotating schedule
  • Provide academic advising, mentoring, and tutoring to support student success
  • Engage in professional development and scholarship to maintain currency in the field
  • Support undergraduate research opportunities and mentor students in senior capstone experiences
  • Serve on various committees within the School, College, and Faculty Senate

Requirements

  • PhD in English, Comparative Literature, or a related discipline from an accredited institution
  • Teaching experience in English or an associated field
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Highly organized and detail-oriented with the ability to multi-task

Preferred Qualifications

  • Previous experience in program administration
  • Comparable teaching experience at the college level
  • MFA in Creative Writing
  • Secondary specialization in environmental literature or ecopoetics
