About the role

Responsibilities

  • Teach undergraduate engineering and physics courses, including Circuits and upper-level electrical-related electives
  • Advise and mentor undergraduate engineering students
  • Contribute to the School of Engineering and Computer Science's collaborative teaching culture
  • Participate in departmental and institutional service, including ABET accreditation processes and shared governance
  • For tenure-track roles: Develop and maintain an undergraduate-centered technical research agenda and conduct scholarly activities involving undergraduate students

Requirements

  • For Tenure-Track: Ph.D. in an engineering discipline (e.g., Electrical, Computer, Materials, Biomedical, Mechatronics, Engineering Physics, or Aerospace) awarded by August 2028
  • For Teaching-Track: Master’s degree or higher in engineering or a closely related field
  • Proficiency in electrical engineering and the ability to teach Circuits
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills with a commitment to excellence in undergraduate education

Preferred Qualifications

  • Demonstrated ability to incorporate active learning, project-based learning, or other evidence-based teaching practices
  • Experience mentoring students and involving undergraduates in research
  • A multidisciplinary background that enables wide coverage of engineering courses
  • Industry experience (preferred for teaching-track candidates)
