Assistant or Associate Professor of Art

Responsibilities

• Teach undergraduate studio art courses across multiple media, including drawing, painting, design, sculpture, ceramics, or printmaking
• Instruct undergraduate art history and general education art appreciation courses
• Teach Methods and Materials courses specifically for art education majors
• Supervise and mentor art education interns in accordance with state licensure and institutional standards
• Advise and mentor visual arts and art education students academically, artistically, and professionally
• Participate in departmental planning, assessment, student recruitment, and university service
• Assist with gallery exhibitions, student shows, or community engagement initiatives

Requirements

• Master's degree in visual arts, art education, or a closely related field (Terminal degree preferred)
• Demonstrated competency in multiple visual arts media
• Background or coursework in art history
• Active member of a local Christian church adhering to an evangelical faith consistent with Southern Baptist beliefs
• Commitment to the mission and values of Williams Baptist University

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience teaching or supervising K-12 art education students
• Familiarity with state licensure requirements and accreditation standards
