About the role
Responsibilities
- Supervise the provision and management of patient care services for assigned inpatient psychiatric and children's crisis intervention units.
- Ensure the delivery of quality patient care through direct supervision of clinical staff and management of high-risk situations.
- Facilitate effective interdisciplinary communication to coordinate efforts, resolve operational problems, and improve patient outcomes.
- Plan and implement safe staffing levels based on patient acuity and defined staffing plans.
- Serve as a clinical resource for staff regarding policy, procedure, and standards of practice.
- Promote cost-effective resource utilization, including budget development and daily expense control.
- Participate in quality improvement, educational activities, and research endeavors.
Requirements
- Registered Nurse (RN) license in the State of New Jersey.
- Two (2) years of progressively responsible nursing experience.
- At least one (1) year of experience in the specific service area (Psychiatric/Behavioral Health).
- Strong psychiatric nursing skills and ability to utilize the nursing process.
- Proven leadership ability and capacity to direct non-professional staff in a team environment.
- Proficiency in PC literacy and word processing.
- Excellent communication and problem-solving skills.
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN).
