Assistant Nurse Manager

Responsibilities

• Supervise the provision and management of patient care services for the Acute Psychiatric Services Department on a per diem basis.
• Ensure completion of admission nursing assessments and ongoing risk assessments in accordance with unit standards and regulatory requirements.
• Supervise staff in assessing, planning, implementing, and evaluating the delivery of care.
• Manage high-risk situations to ensure standards of practice are consistently met.
• Facilitate effective interdisciplinary communication to coordinate efforts and resolve operational problems.
• Plan and implement safe staffing levels based on patient acuity and defined staffing plans.
• Promote cost-effective utilization of resources and assist in controlling daily unit expenses.

Requirements

• Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in the State of New Jersey.
• Minimum of two (2) years of progressively responsible nursing experience.
• At least one (1) year of experience specifically in psychiatric services.
• Proven leadership ability and the capacity to function effectively in a team environment.
• Proficiency in PC usage and word processing.
• Strong clinical nursing specialty and problem-solving skills.

Preferred Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN).
