Assistant News Director

Responsibilities

• Lead the newsroom’s editorial vision and daily multiplatform content strategy across broadcast, streaming, digital, and social platforms.
• Drive impactful storytelling with an emphasis on enterprise reporting, breaking news, and community-focused journalism.
• Coach and mentor producers, reporters, anchors, and digital teams to elevate writing and production quality.
• Collaborate with content and streaming teams to maximize reach and strengthen cross-platform storytelling.
• Monitor audience trends and Nielsen ratings to inform editorial decisions and content strategy.
• Support daily newsroom operations, including staffing coordination, schedule planning, and overtime oversight.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Journalism, Communications, or a related field.
• Minimum of five years of experience in television news leadership roles (e.g., Assistant News Director, Executive Producer, or Senior Producer).
• Fully bilingual in English and Spanish with exceptional written and verbal communication skills in both languages.
• Strong editorial judgment and experience leading multiplatform news coverage in fast-paced environments.
• Deep understanding of Nielsen ratings, audience behaviors, and content performance metrics.
• Valid driver’s license with a good driving record.
• Ability to work flexible hours, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
