Assistant Microbiologist I

Responsibilities

• Perform in-process, finished product, and raw ingredient testing
• Conduct environmental testing within the manufacturing facility
• Document all results accurately and perform necessary data entry
• Manage media preparation and general laboratory housekeeping
• Support troubleshooting and special project work
• Maintain compliance with FDA, OSHA, and Abbott policies and procedures
• Work the 2nd shift schedule: Tuesday - Saturday, 3:00 pm to 11:30 pm

Requirements

• High school diploma plus 1 year of college lab studies, 1 year of college math, and 2 years of lab experience (or 4 years in food/pharma manufacturing)
• OR Science-related Associate's Degree plus 1 year of college lab studies, 1 year of college math, and 1 year of lab experience (or 2 years in food/pharma manufacturing)
• OR Science-related Bachelor's Degree with 1 year of college lab studies and 1 year of college math
• Ability to lift, carry, push, or pull weights of more than 20 pounds on a regular basis
• Ability to stand or sit for prolonged periods
