About the role
Responsibilities
- Collaborate with the Head Wrestling Coaching Instructor to organize programs and implement practice and meet plans.
- Facilitate practice sessions, including implementing drills and offering input on meet strategies.
- Support the recruitment of prospective student-athletes and track progress through the Slate system.
- Assist in monitoring student-athlete academic progress and organizing study tables to ensure compliance with NCAA and university standards.
- Provide administrative support, including travel arrangements, equipment care, and facility preparation.
- Support both the men's and women's wrestling programs as directed.
- Mentor student-athletes regarding proper conduct, decorum, and sportsmanship.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution.
- Collegiate wrestling experience as a student-athlete.
- Valid driver’s license.
- Current certifications in CPR and AED.
- Ability to demonstrate the physical movements of the sport.
- Excellent organizational and communication skills.
Preferred Qualifications
- Master’s degree from an accredited institution.
- Minimum of one year of collegiate coaching experience or two years of successful high school or club coaching experience.
- Demonstrated ability to motivate students and provide positive leadership.
- Experience with competitive teams and teaching fundamental wrestling techniques.
