Assistant Men's & Women's Swimming and Diving Coach & Assistant Aquatics Director

Responsibilities

• Serve as an assistant coach for the men's and women's swimming and diving programs under the direction of the head coach.
• Actively recruit, evaluate, and retain student-athletes who align with the mission and standards of Luther College.
• Support team culture, academic success, and personal development of student-athletes.
• Assist with team travel, meet operations, and equipment organization.
• Assist with the daily operation and administration of the Aquatics Center.
• Help with the scheduling, training, supervision, and evaluation of lifeguards and student employees.
• Oversee pool operations, facility scheduling, risk management, and safety procedures.
• Support community programming, special events, rentals, and camps.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree required.
• Collegiate athletic participation and/or coaching experience required.
• Lifeguarding certification required upon hire.
• CPR/AED certification required upon hire.
• Strong communication, organizational, leadership, and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work evenings, weekends, and travel periodically for competitions.

Preferred Qualifications

• One to three years of coaching, aquatics, or athletic administration experience.
• Lifeguard Instructor (LGI) certification.
• Demonstrated ability to recruit and retain qualified student-athletes.
• Experience supervising student employees.
