Assistant Men's Ice Hockey Coach

Responsibilities

• Assist the head coach in planning, organizing, and implementing all phases of a Division I ice hockey program
• Manage on-ice training for both the team and individual student-athletes
• Conduct video analysis using software such as Sport Logiq and XOS to prepare scouting and post-game reports
• Lead recruitment efforts, including on and off-campus evaluations and building relationships with prospective student-athletes
• Monitor student-athlete academic progress and support their athletic and academic goals
• Participate in public relations, fundraising efforts, and the administration of summer hockey camps
• Comply with all NCAA, Big Ten, and University regulations

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university
• Previous coaching experience
• Previous playing experience at a highly competitive level
• Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to train and motivate athletes
• Excellent communication, organization, and computer skills
• Ability to successfully pass a background check and NCAA recruiting test

Preferred Qualifications

• Master's degree from an accredited college or university
• Knowledge and experience recruiting at the Division I level
• Thorough knowledge of NCAA rules and intercollegiate athletics
• Successful coaching experience at the Division I or professional level
