Assistant Marching Band Director (Brass Instructor)

Responsibilities

• Assist the director with full band music rehearsals
• Instruct brass sectionals (may include other winds according to need)
• Assist with outdoor rehearsals, including logistics, music, drill, and visuals
• Assist with performance and game day logistics
• Assist the Director with initiatives and events targeted towards recruitment

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in music performance or education on a brass instrument
• Demonstrated success in rehearsing marching bands, including instrumental technique, drill, and visual skills
• Evidence of success in marching band logistics, recruitment, and equipment management
• Evidence of leadership and teaching experience
• Ability to attend band camp (August 12-18, 2026) and regular rehearsals (Tuesdays and Thursdays)
• Ability to work in varied indoor and outdoor weather conditions

Preferred Qualifications

• Graduate degree in music
