About the role
Responsibilities
- Administer and configure Workday modules including HCM, Payroll, Time Tracking, Absence, and Scheduling
- Manage system updates, enhancements, and releases, including UAT and regression testing
- Configure payroll elements such as earnings, deductions, tax rules, and collective agreement provisions
- Troubleshoot system issues and conduct root-cause analysis for HRIS and payroll discrepancies
- Develop and maintain reports, dashboards, and analytics related to workforce trends and absenteeism
- Perform data validation and reconciliation to ensure accuracy and audit readiness
- Provide technical guidance, user support, and training to maximize effective use of Workday tools
- Supervise and support team members to ensure service delivery aligns with organizational policies
Requirements
- 3–5 years of hands-on experience with Workday (HCM, Payroll, Time Tracking, and Absence Management)
- Strong understanding of HRIS configuration, data structures, and payroll systems
- Proficiency in Workday reporting, including calculated fields, dashboards, and advanced tools
- Experience with Workday EIBs, data conversion, and system integrations
- Advanced Excel skills, including Pivot Tables and XLOOKUP
- Knowledge of Canadian payroll practices
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills
Preferred Qualifications
- PCP or Workday certifications
- Experience working in a unionized environment
