Assistant Manager-Transportation

Responsibilities

• Direct the day-to-day execution of Pan India transportation functions for SKF India.
• Manage daily operations including route coordination, vehicle scheduling, and ensuring timely deliveries.
• Monitor and control transportation expenses to identify cost-saving opportunities and optimize resource use.
• Ensure compliance with government regulations, transportation permits, and industry standards.
• Drive excellence in customer experience by performing root cause analysis on delivery-related complaints.
• Support sustainability targets by driving Scope 3 emission reductions through load optimization and alternative energy implementation.
• Monitor carrier performance and manage contractual relationships to impact productivity and cost.
• Oversee the customer return (RET) process and ensure timely material returns within system timelines.
• Utilize Transportation Management Systems (TMS) to ensure timely revenue recognition and efficient transporter bill clearance.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in logistics, engineering, business management, or a related field.
• Solid understanding of the logistics and transportation industry.
• Proven experience in problem-solving and handling transportation-related customer complaints.
• Proficiency in using Transportation Management Systems (TMS) and warehouse management software.
• Strong analytical, critical thinking, and persuasive skills.
• Ability to work under pressure, multitask, and collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.
