Assistant Manager, Purchase

Responsibilities

• Procurement planning of Raw Materials and packaging materials based on rolling demand forecast
• Negotiate with suppliers to ensure best market terms
• Prepare and place purchase orders on approved suppliers
• Ensure timely delivery of materials as per procurement plan
• Monitor supplier quality and delivery performance
• Manage Raw Material inventory levels and control slow-moving stock
• Identify cost reduction opportunities and new potential suppliers
• Prepare MIS reports and analyze purchasing effectiveness
• Support new development by arranging required raw materials

Requirements

• Technical and financial acumen for direct material spend (chemicals and metal packaging)
• Experience working in an ERP environment
• Knowledge of international logistics and custom clearance processes
• Proficiency in MS Excel, Word, and PowerPoint
• Understanding of regulatory requirements for chemical sourcing
• Ability to read specifications and Material Safety Data Sheets (MSDS)
• Market knowledge of chemicals used in paint or similar industries

Preferred Qualifications

• 7-8 years of experience in purchasing within paint, construction chemicals, agro-chemicals, FMCG, or pharmaceuticals
• Prior experience in the paint manufacturing industry
• Experience in E-commerce category planning and sourcing
