About the role
Responsibilities
- Manage end-to-end procurement of raw materials, components, consumables, and services
- Identify, evaluate, and onboard suppliers aligned with quality, cost, and delivery requirements
- Handle RFQs, price negotiations, PO creation, and contract finalization
- Develop cost-saving strategies and drive VA/VE initiatives to reduce procurement spend
- Build and maintain strong relationships with Tier-1/OEM suppliers
- Monitor supplier performance through scorecards and conduct audits
- Coordinate with production, planning, and logistics to maintain optimum inventory levels
- Analyze purchase trends, price fluctuations, and market conditions
- Support new product development (NPD) by identifying and developing new vendors
Requirements
- 5+ years of procurement or sourcing experience in the automotive sector
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Production, Automobile Engineering, or a related field
- Strong exposure to Tier-1 or OEM supply chains
- Hands-on experience sourcing raw materials, mechanical parts, plastics, or sheet metal
- Proficiency in SAP or ERP procurement modules
- Excellent negotiation, costing, and supplier management skills
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in local and global sourcing
- Knowledge of ISO/TS 16949 and automotive quality systems
- Strong stakeholder management skills
