Assistant Manager (Procurement/Purchase)

Responsibilities

• Manage end-to-end procurement of raw materials, components, consumables, and services
• Identify, evaluate, and onboard suppliers aligned with quality, cost, and delivery requirements
• Handle RFQs, price negotiations, PO creation, and contract finalization
• Develop cost-saving strategies and drive VA/VE initiatives to reduce procurement spend
• Build and maintain strong relationships with Tier-1/OEM suppliers
• Monitor supplier performance through scorecards and conduct audits
• Coordinate with production, planning, and logistics to maintain optimum inventory levels
• Analyze purchase trends, price fluctuations, and market conditions
• Support new product development (NPD) by identifying and developing new vendors

Requirements

• 5+ years of procurement or sourcing experience in the automotive sector
• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Production, Automobile Engineering, or a related field
• Strong exposure to Tier-1 or OEM supply chains
• Hands-on experience sourcing raw materials, mechanical parts, plastics, or sheet metal
• Proficiency in SAP or ERP procurement modules
• Excellent negotiation, costing, and supplier management skills

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience in local and global sourcing
• Knowledge of ISO/TS 16949 and automotive quality systems
• Strong stakeholder management skills
