Assistant Manager

Responsibilities

• Support the General Manager in running a high-performing Pet Care Center and leading store partners
• Uphold animal care standards to ensure the health, safety, and proper handling of all animals
• Lead, motivate, and engage the team to deliver outstanding customer service and build loyalty
• Provide timely coaching, feedback, and recognition to strengthen partner performance
• Drive sales, service, and operational goals by leading from the sales floor
• Assist with inventory control, merchandising execution, and promotional events
• Resolve escalated customer concerns quickly and professionally
• Step into leadership responsibilities and decision-making in the absence of the General Manager

Requirements

• 2+ years of retail experience, including supervisory or management experience
• Proven ability to lead, coach, and motivate a team
• Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Proficiency with point-of-sale (POS) systems and Microsoft Office applications
• Ability to lift and move merchandise or animals weighing up to 50 pounds
• Flexible availability to support operating hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays
