Assistant Manager

Responsibilities

• Support the General Manager in running a high-performing Pet Care Center and leading store partners
• Uphold animal care standards to ensure the health, safety, and proper handling of all animals
• Lead, motivate, and coach the team to deliver outstanding customer service and build loyalty
• Drive sales, service, and operational goals by leading from the sales floor
• Assist with hiring, onboarding, training, and ongoing performance management of team members
• Manage daily store operations, including inventory control, merchandising, and promotional execution
• Resolve escalated customer concerns professionally and act as the lead in the General Manager's absence

Requirements

• 2+ years of retail experience, including supervisory or management experience
• Proven ability to lead, coach, and motivate a team
• Strong problem-solving, decision-making, and communication skills
• Proficiency with point-of-sale (POS) systems and Microsoft Office applications
• Ability to lift and move merchandise, supplies, or animals weighing up to 50 pounds
• Ability to work a flexible schedule, including evenings, weekends, and holidays

Preferred Qualifications

• Passion for animals and existing knowledge of pet care
