Assistant Manager

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with the team to exceed daily sales goals and ensure an inclusive customer experience
• Educate customers and staff on brand values including ethical buying and animal testing positions
• Provide informed product recommendations based on deep product knowledge
• Support the team on the sales floor, resolve problems, and motivate staff to meet goals
• Assist in recruitment, hiring, and succession planning
• Manage shop compliance regarding opening/closing, product integrity, and health and safety
• Oversee stock, inventory, and visual merchandising standards
• Manage staff scheduling, breaks, and attendance to ensure payroll accuracy

Requirements

• 1-3 years of management or supervisory experience in retail
• Excellent listening, communication, and organizational skills
• Strong analytical, critical thinking, and troubleshooting abilities
• Proven customer service, supervisory, and sales skills
• Knowledge of and interest in skincare, natural beauty, and ethical business
• Ability to work flexible hours including evenings, weekends, and holidays

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with consultation-based customer service models
• Ability to develop and train staff through positive coaching
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and the Microsoft Suite
• Basic HR skills in hiring, scheduling, and performance management
• Fluency in English, French, Spanish, or other languages
