About the role

Responsibilities

  • Prepare complex fund financial statements, including SEC filings such as Forms 10-K, 10-Q, N-CSR, and N-CEN for retail alternative products.
  • Manage and validate client account reporting, audit deliverables, accruals, and tax packages.
  • Oversee annual audits by coordinating with outside auditors, clients, and printers.
  • Lead and develop a team of associates through hiring, training, performance appraisals, and goal setting.
  • Monitor fund performance and manage expense analyses, including management and 12b-1 fees.
  • Ensure all financial results and disclosures comply with SEC, IRS, and applicable accounting standards.
  • Act as an escalation point for complex problems and maintain strong relationships with client companies and third-party vendors.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, economics, business, or a related field.
  • 4 years of experience in fund accounting or fund administration.
  • Proven management or leadership experience.
  • Direct experience within the financial services industry.
  • Experience preparing financial statements specifically related to mutual funds.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and Adobe Acrobat.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Specialized knowledge of retail alternative investment products such as BDCs, REITs, interval funds, and tender offer funds.
  • Understanding of disclosure controls, procedures, and financial reporting systems.
  • Familiarity with stocks, bonds, options, foreign securities, and derivatives.
