Assistant Manager, Electrical System Engineer

Responsibilities

• Design and integrate elevator electrical subsystems, including control system requirements, motor/VF drive interfaces, and electrical codes.
• Design wire harnesses and manage interfaces between various elevator components through electrification and signaling.
• Prepare Bills of Materials (BOM) for elevator control systems across various ratings.
• Select and size key electrical components such as relays, safety sensors, circuit breakers, switches, and transformers.
• Identify cost reduction opportunities and innovative design solutions to optimize product costs.
• Provide technical leadership and troubleshooting support for electrical system and component issues.
• Perform failure and risk analysis using tools such as FMEA, FTA, and RAMP.
• Develop and execute qualification plans and reliability tests in accordance with international standards (EN/IEC).

Requirements

• BE/B.Tech/M.Tech in Electrical or Electronics Engineering.
• 8+ years of experience as an electrical design engineer.
• Proven experience in product development and industrial electrical components or switchgear.
• Proficiency in design tools such as AutoCAD, E Plan, or E3.
• Ability to deliver electrical designs on time while meeting strict safety, quality, and cost targets.

Preferred Qualifications

• 2+ years of direct experience in the elevator industry.
• Experience with electrical system calculations including cable sizing, power converter sizing, and heat release calculations.
