Assistant Maintenance

Responsibilities

• Assist the maintenance supervisor in maintaining the physical integrity of the property.
• Complete resident service requests within 24 hours whenever possible.
• Manage and implement the system for handling resident service requests and on-call rotations.
• Perform routine maintenance and repairs involving electrical, plumbing, HVAC, appliances, and more.
• Maintain accurate records of preventive maintenance, service requests, and vacant apartment make-ready status.
• Inspect and maintain all tools and ensure safety materials are current and accessible.
• Participate in standby emergency schedules, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
• Assist in preparing the property for various inspections.

Requirements

• Minimum of two years of full-time experience in apartment maintenance or a related trade.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• EPA certification (refrigerant, transition, and recovery).
• Possession of a basic set of hand tools.
• Valid driver’s license with a good driving record and auto insurance.
• Fluency in English (written and verbal).
• Ability to lift up to 30 lbs and perform physical tasks such as climbing stairs and walking the property in various weather conditions.

Preferred Qualifications

• Technical Certification in a relevant field.
• Bilingual skills in Spanish.
