Assistant Maintenance

Responsibilities

• Assist the maintenance supervisor in maintaining the physical integrity of the property.
• Complete resident service requests, aiming for a 24-hour turnaround time.
• Perform routine maintenance and repairs involving electrical, plumbing, HVAC, appliances, and more.
• Maintain accurate records of preventive maintenance, service requests, and vacant apartment status.
• Manage and inspect all tools to ensure they are in excellent condition.
• Participate in on-call rotations and standby emergency schedules for evenings, weekends, and holidays.
• Ensure all work is conducted safely and in compliance with company policies and state/federal laws.

Requirements

• Minimum of two years of full-time experience in apartment maintenance or a related trade.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• EPA certification (refrigerant, transition, and recovery).
• Possession of a basic set of hand tools.
• Valid driver’s license with a good driving record and auto insurance.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills in English.
• Ability to lift up to 30 lbs and perform physical tasks such as climbing stairs and walking the property in various weather conditions.

Preferred Qualifications

• Technical Certification in a relevant field.
• Bilingual skills in Spanish.
