Assistant Maintenance

Responsibilities

• Assist the maintenance supervisor in maintaining the physical integrity of the property.
• Complete resident service requests, aiming for a 24-hour turnaround time.
• Perform minor and routine repairs involving electrical, plumbing, HVAC, appliances, and carpentry.
• Maintain accurate records of preventive maintenance, service requests, and vacant apartment make-ready status.
• Conduct regular inspections of tools, equipment, and property grounds to ensure safety and functionality.
• Participate in the on-call rotation and standby emergency schedules for evenings, weekends, and holidays.
• Ensure all work is performed in accordance with company policies and state/federal laws (ADA, Fair Housing, OSHA).

Requirements

• Minimum of 2 years of full-time experience in apartment maintenance or a related trade.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• EPA certification (refrigerant, transition, and recovery).
• Possession of a basic set of hand tools.
• Valid driver's license with a good driving record and auto insurance.
• Fluency in English (written and verbal); bilingual in Spanish is a plus.
• Ability to lift up to 30 lbs and perform physical tasks such as climbing stairs and walking the property in various weather conditions.
