Assistant Maintenance

Responsibilities

• Complete resident service requests within 24 hours whenever possible
• Assist the maintenance supervisor in maintaining the physical integrity of the property
• Perform routine maintenance and repairs involving plumbing, electrical, HVAC, appliances, and carpentry
• Maintain accurate records of preventive maintenance, service requests, and vacant apartment make-ready status
• Conduct regular inspections of equipment and tools to ensure they are in excellent condition
• Participate in the on-call rotation and standby emergency schedules for evenings, weekends, and holidays
• Ensure all work is carried out safely and in accordance with company policies and state/federal laws

Requirements

• Minimum of 2 years of full-time experience in apartment maintenance or a related trade
• High school diploma or equivalent
• EPA certification (refrigerant, transition, and recovery)
• Possession of a basic set of hand tools
• Valid driver's license with a good driving record and auto insurance
• Fluency in English (written and verbal)
• Ability to travel to different locations and work weekends as needed
• Physical ability to walk the property, climb stairs, and lift up to 30 lbs.

Preferred Qualifications

• Technical Certification in a relevant field
• Bilingual skills in Spanish
