Assistant Librarian

Responsibilities

• Provide legal and non-legal research and reference services for judges and court staff
• Develop and maintain web-based electronic information delivery services
• Provide training on Westlaw, Lexis, Bloomberg Law, and other research resources
• Create training materials, research guides, and newsletters
• Participate in collection development, acquisitions, and cataloging
• Maintain the Pasadena Branch Library collection
• Coordinate library events and participate in court committees

Requirements

• M.L.S. degree from an ALA-accredited school with one year of law library experience OR one year of legal research and one year of library experience
• OR J.D. degree with one year of law library experience and one year of additional library experience
• Excellent research and communication skills
• Strong organizational and problem-solving skills
• Ability to work as part of a small onsite team
• Ability to travel to other court locations within the Circuit
• Ability to handle occasional moderate to heavy physical activity

Preferred Qualifications

• Two years of professional law library experience
• Demonstrated skills in legal reference and research
• Experience with SharePoint, Microsoft Teams, or LibGuides
• Practical experience in acquisitions and cataloging
• J.D. degree
