About the role
Responsibilities
- Provide instructional support to the primary instructor for the Medical Preparation program
- Instruct small group sessions to demonstrate skills and coach student performance
- Evaluate student performance and document skill proficiencies through formal and informal assessments
- Present individual topic didactic instruction as needed
- Supervise the repair and maintenance of equipment and assist with the setup and tear down of skill stations
- Assist the primary instructor in ensuring compliance with outside agency regulations
Requirements
- Associate's degree and at least two years of EMS experience
- Current, unrestricted EMT Basic, EMT Advanced, or Paramedic Certification
- BLS Instructor CPR certification (or ability to obtain within one month of hire)
- Post-secondary vocational credential in Health Occupations issued by Aims Community College CTE Office
- Ability to pass a pre-employment post-offer urine analysis
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in a related field
- Bilingual in Spanish and English
- Experience in a community college teaching environment, including curriculum writing
- Five or more years of patient-oriented EMS experience
- Proficiency with Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, and D2L
- Prior teaching or training experience in health occupation related areas
