Assistant Housekeeping Supervisor

Responsibilities

• Supervise and allocate work to Housekeepers and Service Workers in assigned areas
• Perform regular inspections to ensure high standards of cleanliness and safety
• Provide hands-on orientation and training to staff regarding equipment and product usage
• Manage inventory by checking and reporting requirements for cleaning chemicals, paper products, and linens
• Prepare bi-weekly supply orders for management approval
• Ensure master key sets are secured and used appropriately for room access
• Monitor and maintain housekeeping equipment, reporting any deficiencies or repair needs
• Oversee special projects such as floor care and carpet cleaning
• Document property damage and manage lost and found items according to established procedures

Requirements

• Graduation from a technical college or institute
• 1 year of relevant experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience
• Commitment to equity, diversity, and inclusion in the workplace
• Ability to work a part-time schedule (4:30pm – 12:30am) on a three-day work week (Friday-Monday)

Preferred Qualifications

• Building Services Worker Certificate
• Class 5 Driver's License
• Experience supervising in a unionized environment
• Experience facilitating training sessions and orienting new employees
• Basic computer skills and familiarity with Microsoft Office
• Ability to learn proprietary room booking software
