About the role
Responsibilities
- Play a key role in the overall smooth running of the school
- Support and develop teaching and learning through coaching, demonstrating, and modelling good practice
- Lead by example by coaching, mentoring, and supporting training and development for all team members
- Take lead responsibility for the curriculum offer, provision, well-being, progress, and achievement of all children
- Work with the Head of School to ensure an engaging, well-resourced, and differentiated curriculum
- Act as the site Exam Officer, ensuring all examination and accreditation processes meet JCQ requirements
- Lead on Careers Education, Information, Advice and Guidance (CEIAG) to support KS4 pupils' pathways to adulthood
- Lead in a specific curriculum area across the wider school network
Requirements
- QTS or QTLS is essential
- Proven track record of excellent teaching within a special needs environment
- Experience in leadership or holding responsibility for a significant area or phase of inclusion
- Experience turning policy into effective and successful practice
- Strong team management skills and the ability to work collaboratively
- Ability to manage complex scenarios and conflict resolution effectively
- Excellent communication skills for a wide range of audiences and external agencies
Preferred Qualifications
- Management or leadership qualification
- Accredited training in specific areas of special education (e.g., Autism, Dyslexia)
