Assistant General Manager, Residential Dining

Responsibilities

• Supervise the dining unit's plan to attain operational goals and manage the performance of Unit Assistant Managers.
• Manage staff scheduling and payroll for union and temporary staff to maintain service standards within budgeted labor costs.
• Lead the development, planning, and monitoring of special events.
• Identify opportunities to implement innovative products and services to achieve financial goals and stay ahead of industry trends.
• Ensure strict adherence to Federal, State, Local, and University sanitation and OSHA regulations.
• Oversee unit staff to ensure customer satisfaction and a safe, healthy work environment.
• Assist with hiring, training, and evaluating staff to address developmental needs.
• Interact diplomatically with the University community, including students, staff, and campus departments.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree required.
• 4-6 years of related experience, preferably in food service management.
• Minimum of 4 years of experience supervising staff.
• Strong organizational and supervisory skills.
• Extensive management experience in food service.
• Ability to work a flexible schedule.
• Excellent interpersonal, written, and oral communication skills.

Preferred Qualifications

• Previous experience supervising a unionized workforce.
• Proficiency with computers, specifically Microsoft Word and Excel.
• Knowledge of Kronos Payroll Systems.
• Working knowledge of a University environment.
