Assistant General Manager (AGM)

Responsibilities

• Oversee day-to-day operations for two plants with approximately 155 combined employees.
• Report directly to the General Manager and support the plant in a learning environment.
• Manage line stops, safety violations, accidents, and chronic defects.
• Drive improvements in throughput, inventory, operational expenses, and manpower efficiency.
• Participate in budget development, cost control, weekly forecasts, and capital expenditures.
• Ensure customer expectations are met regarding delivery and cost, including customer liaison and travel when required.
• Manage policy deployment in Lean Manufacturing, quality, cost reduction, and safety.
• Ensure compliance with all applicable codes, standards, and legislation, including the Occupational Health and Safety Act.
• Foster a culture of team spirit, openness, trust, and respect among plant personnel.

Requirements

• 5-10 years of experience in the automotive industry.
• 5-7 years of experience at a management level.
• Proven experience working within a manufacturing facility.
• Strong technical and financial fundamentals.
• Thorough knowledge of the Occupational Health and Safety Act and Regulations.
• High level of computer proficiency.
• Excellent leadership, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
• Strong written and oral communication skills.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with Lean Manufacturing techniques.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment with frequent interruptions.
• Readiness to support shop floor activities during emergencies and work overtime as required.
